I know it’s a dead debate, but for people who are still defending the decision to award Miguel Cabrera the MVP, here’s a list of the 25 greatest individual seasons in baseball history as measured by WAR (Wins Above Replacement player). Next to each player is his age during each season.
The next closest in terms of age on this list is Willie Mays, who, at age 23, posted a 10.3 WAR, while Mike Trout, (at 20 freaking years old) still far from the apex of his baseball wizardry, posted a 10.7 in his rookie season, during which he only played in 139 out of 162 games (which WAR is not adjusted for)
Anyway, the Triple Crown is ridiculous and Mike Trout is your god now.
