When Harrisburg Mayor Linda Thompson met with former grants manager Stover Clark for the last time, she and other staffers prayed for him to ask Jesus to forgive him for not accepting him as his savior.

Seriously? On what freaking planet is it okay to tell a member of your staff that you’re going to pray for them?

I could maybe understand if he was sick and they were just trying to be nice and pray for good health. It’s still not the right place for that, but at least the intentions are good. But praying for a co-worker just to be spiteful? That’s messed up.

Isn’t this the same Mayor Linda Thompson who, rather than continuing to work toward a budget solution, will fast and pray for 3 days instead?

I try not to argue with every Rhodes Scholar who disagrees with me, but your caps lock screed begs a response: the problem is intent. They’re breaking up the votes to take away the big prize. If every state switched to a system designed to represent popular vote, it would be fair. If every state stuck with the Electoral College, it would be fair. They’re doing this because they can’t win fairly, and they’re doing it now because they control the PA legislature and governorship, which is what is required to redistrict (or gerrymander, if you want to use a fancy college* word) Pennsylvania into a GOP-friendly (/friendlier) state.

But I’m sure you knew that.
